Performance Rights Organisations (PROs)
Public performance rights are the rights needed to play music in public. You have two types of performance rights: the rights for the composition (the composers, songwriters and publishers) and the rights for the sound recording (the artists, performers and record labels). The performance rights for the sound recordings are often referred to as neighboring rights.
Almost every country in the world has their own Performance Rights Organization (PRO) to administer licenses for public performance of music. For your convenience, I have compiled a list of the different PROs worldwide below with clickable links.*
